Information:                 Funeral services for John H. Westfall, 92, who died at Mineral Wells on Wednesday of last week, were held from the Vail Funeral Home here Friday afternoon with the Rev. Richard Batten in charge and burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.  Mr. Westfall, son of the late Noah and Matilda (Kuhn) Westfall, was born at Buckhannon June 7, 1856, departed this life March 16, 1949 at the age of 92 years, 9 months, and 9 days.  He passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Matilda Casto of Mineral Wells, with whom he had been living for the past few years.  He was united in marriage to Barbara Evelyn Raines on Jan. 29, 1878, and to this union eleven children were born.  His wife and three children, Mrs. Lina Hutton and Vertie and Carrol Westfall preceded him in death.  He is survived by the following children:  Mrs. Matilda Casto of Mineral Wells, Mrs. Iva Warner of Ripley, Mrs. Icie Stanley of Beaver, Pa., Mrs. Ida Ludwig of New Waterford, Ohio, Mrs. Velma Parrish of Aliquippa, Pa., B. B. Westfall of Berlin Center, Ohio, D. E. Westfall of Cleveland, Ohio, and Herbert Westfall of Ravenswood.  He is also survived by one brother, Walker Westfall of Morgantown.  He also leaves to mourn 37 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  (Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection)
