  <p>Information: Charles Lee ""Hood"" Wendell, 80, 247 Second Avenue, Ripley, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1987, at Jackson General Hospital after an extended illness.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late Walter F. and Ollie Mae Rhodes Wendell.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator, a 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Union Local No. 132 and a member of the Siniaville United Methodist Church.  He was a gunsmith and a member of the National Rifle Association.  He is survived by his wife, Irene L. King Wendell; son, Charles Allen Wendell of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Becky Bush of Silverton; foster brother, Eli Short of Ripley; grandson, Joshua Wendell Bush of Silverton; aunt, Mary Boyd of Fairplain.  Services were Monday at Siniaville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Hinzman officiating.  Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
