Information:               Funeral services for Solomon Jackson BOYER, 75, who died at his home in Cottageville on the previous Monday after a long illness, were held from the Cottageville Methodist Church on Wednesday with burial in the Blaine Memorial Cemetery.  Rev. J. F. CUNNINGHAM had charge of the service.  He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Susie ROWAN and Mrs. Jenny ROWAN, both of Ohio, and Mrs. Lena CARROLL of Texas; and four sons, O. W. BOYER of Mason City, F. E. BOYER of Cottageville, Thomas J. BOYER of California and Benjamin H. BOYER of Ohio.  Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  (from the obit collection of Betty Kessel McIntyre)   (second obit)   Solomon J. BOYER                  Solomon J. BOYER was born in Meigs County, Ohio, Dec. 22, 1862, departed from this life Oct. 20, 1947, aged 85-9-28.  He came to West Virginia when five years old and spent the balance of his life in Mason and Jackson counties.  Rev. I. J. MCCOLLUM had charge of the service and the Parsons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.  Burial was in Blaine Memorial Cemetery.               He was married early in life to Eliza E. DONOHUE and to this union the following children were born: O. W. BOYER of Mason City, F. E. BOYER of Cottageville, Mrs. Lena CARROLL of Franeitas, Texas, Thomas J. BOYER of Porwalk, California, Mrs. Dana ROWAN of Midvale, Ohio, and B. H. BOYER of New Philadelphia, Ohio.  Julius W. and Early Ray preceded him in death.  He also leaves 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  (Jackson Herald,  Fri., 14 Nov 1947)
