  <p>Information: Vessie Evelyn Rhodes Warner, 87, of Ripley, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, following a long illness.  She was born June 30, 1915, at Jackson County, a daughter of the late Rector and Alice Westfall Rhodes.  She was a housewife and a member of the Sandyville United Methodist Church.  She owned and operated a general store at Statts Mill and Sandyville and was a Post Mistress at Statts Mill and Sandyville.  She was a Red Cross volunteer at Jackson General Hospital for many years and an avid quilter at the Sandyville Senior Citizens Center.  She is survived by a sister, Thelma Casto, of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Warner; sisters, Ora Rhodes, Lee Orza Allen, Corda Rhodes and Virgie Fields; and brothers, Owen and Otis Rhodes.  Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, July 3), at Vail Funeral Home in Ripley, with the Rev. Charles Hicks officiating.  Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
