Information:      Former Ripley resident Carl Frederick Wandling, Sr., 34, of Alexanderia, Va., died Saturday in Mt. Vernon Hospital, Alexanderia, Va., following a short illness.  He was born January 8, 1943, in Jackson County, WV, a son of Mrs. Marie Wandling and the late Kermit Wandling.  He was a 17 year employee of Allegheny Airlines, stationed at National Airport in Washington, D.C., at the time of his death. Carl was a 1960 graduate of Ripley High School and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ripley.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Wandling of Ranson; one son, Carl F. Wandling, Jr.; of Hedgeville; four step-children, Mathew, Ineta, Annette, and Heidi Thompson, all of Ranson; one brother, Allen Wandling of Weirton; and a sister, Blondis Wandling, Charleston.  Funeral services were held Tuesday at Parsons Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Hick and the Rev. William Eaton officiating.  Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.
