  <p>Information: Garnett Bernice Walter, 89, of Leroy, departed this life Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Eldercare of Ripley, following an extended illness.  She was born January 26, 1913, in Medina, a daughter of the late Henry Martin and Mersylla Hardesty Smith.  She was formerly a nurse&#39;s aid at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg and at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley.  She was a homemaker, a Methodist, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Sandyville.  Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Aubrey Lee Walter; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald L. and Kay Walter of Ravenswood, James and Jean Walter of Sandyville, Roy Wayne and Pam Walter of Leroy, and Bob and Debbie Walter of Palestine; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gaylord Smith.  Funeral services were held Saturday at Casto Funeral Home in Ravenswood with the Rev. Danny McVey officiating.  Burial in Fairview Cemetery in Leroy.</p>
