Information: John W. Wagner was born January 22, 1850, and departed from this life October 11, 1918, aged 68 years, 3 months and 4 days.  He was united in marriage to Caroline Thorn on March 9, 1873.  To this union were born four children, Mrs. Sarah E. Campbell, Mrs Blanche Dragoo, Hiram and Samuel Wagoner, who survive him, and Mrs. Mary L. Wood, a daughter by his first wife.  He joined the Methodist church in early life and was a faithful follower of the Lord until the last.  He was a loving husband and a dear father and a friend to all who knew him.  Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wilhelm and the remains laid to rest in the Independence cemetary.
