  <p>Information: William Henry Vickers Jr., 71, of Ahoskie, N. C. formerly of Elkview, died Saturday in Duke University Hospital, Durham, N. C., after a short illness.  He was a veteran of World War II, was retired from Union Carbide and was a retired teacher for Roanoke Chowan Technical College of Ahoskie, N. C.  Surviving:  wife, Eileen Staats Vickers; sons, Jarrett D. of Columbus, O., Timothy J. of Boone, N. C., daughters, Lynn Scott of Raleigh, N. C., Joyce Sheets of New Haven, W. Va., Vanessa Towell of Knightdale, N. C.; brother, Charles of Elkview; sisters, Geraldine Harrison of Western Springs, Ill., Joan Guthrie of Charleston, Louise Wilson of Elkview; nine grandchildren.  Service was Tuesday at Hafer Funeral Home, Elkview, wtih the Rev. Bobby Sizemore officiating.  Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.                                        Born June 14, 1914</p>
