Death Notice:
Obituary Date: 1923-01-26
Information: P. B. Vanhorn, a well known citizen of Ripley, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. D. D. Karr, Wednesday night. Mr. Vanhorn had been a sufferer from a cancer on his face for years. His suffering for the past year had been intense. He sought relief by many would-be cures, but to no avail. While no man or friends welcome death, it must have been a great relief after such suffering. His wife (Katie, daughter of G. R. and V. Romine) and three children preceded him. Three boys are yet living, Carl of Cleveland, Ohio, Preston and Charles. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. D. D. Karr of Ripley, and a brother, Charles Vanhorn of Topins Grove. He will be buried in the Romine-Vanhorn cemetery in Grant District. (from the compilation of Betty Kessel McIntyre)
