Information: VAIL FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY - The citizens of Ripley and all Jackson county paid their last tribute of respect to an outstanding business man and civic leader, J. B. Vail, at funeral services here Sunday afternoon.  Death came to the well known Ripley citizen at his home here early Friday morning after a long illness.  He was 66 years of age.  All day Saturday and Saturday night and up until the time for the funeral Sunday afternoon, an endless line of friends filed by his bier as his body lay in state at the Vail funeral home.  Most of them would recall some favor, some helpful advice, and some other way in which Joe Vail had done them a favor during his lifetime.      Born Joseph Bream Vail, a son of the late J. R. Vail and Mrs. Anna B. Vail, he was the third generation of his family to operate the Vail Funeral home, the oldest business in the county under the same ownership.  He is survived by his wife, Tinnie, and his mother.  He had no children.  Mr. Vail was a life-long resident of Ripley, where he began early to work in the family business.  He took a prominent part in the development of the gas...........
