Information: Caroline Casto Tolley, daughter of Elijah and Mary Casto was born on the waters of Grass Lick on February 18, 1843, and died December 5, 1922, being 79 years, 9 months and 17 days old. She was first married to George Washington Casto May 4, 1858, and to this union one child was born, Mrs. Emma Roberts of Beckley, W. Va.      She was again united in marriage with Charles Lewis Tolley, September 12, 1864, and to this union were born six children, of whom four survive her:  Minerva Whiting, Alice Thomas, E. C. and W. E. Tolley, all of whom reside at Ripley.  The other two children died while quite young.  All of her sisters and her brother have preceded her.  Aunt Caroline being the last of the family to pass over to the better world.      She was converted to Christianity more than forty years ago in an old log church on Grass Run in pioneer days and united with the Protestant Methodist Church.  She has lived a good life throughout these years, has always held her Savior as an example to her children and her neighbors, has continued strong in the faith and has repeatedly remarked to her children and neighbors in recent years that she was ready and willing to cross over and meet her Savior face to face on the Evergreen shore where there shall be no more parting.      Aunt Caroline was an ardent student of the Bible and other good books, among which she prized highly was one entitled, ""Glimpses of Heaven"", in the back of which she had written in her own hand writing the following lines:  ""No mortal woes can reach the peaceful sleeper here While angels watch her soft repose"".  These words alone should be sufficient evidence of how this blessed mother and good woman died.      She had been sick about ten weeks and her children had been constantly at her bedside and with their friends did all that could be done to help relieve their aged mother of her ailment, but of no avail until the angels beckoned, come!, and death released her from this world to go to a better world and be with those that preceded her.            X.
