  <p>Information: Wallace Vermont Thorn, 81, died January 31 at Eldercare, Ripley.  He was born in Jackson County the son of the late William and Minnie Angus Thorn.  He was a union laborer and farmer and attended the Pentecostal Church.  He is survived by his wife, Thelma Pyles Thorn of Festus, MO; two daughters, Donna Mangus of Festus and Shirley Crow of Rt. 2, Ravenswood; one sister, Clara Crimmel of Marietta; two brothers, Dan Thorn of Eldercare, Ripley and Amos Thorn of Florida; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Adkins officiating.  Burial will be in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.  Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9.</p>
