Information: COTTAGEVILLE- William Henry Thompson, 76, of Cottageville departed this life June 22, 2002, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.  He was born July 21, 1925, in St. Albans, a son of the late Heber Rufus and Lena B. Baier Thompson.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Joseph Thompson.  He was a retired truck driver with 37 years of service from Interstate Motor Freight System, Toledo, Ohio.  He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, Toledo, Ohio, and Ripley, and was a Protestant.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Frances Ohlinger Thompson; sister, Dorothy Shaffold of Cottageville.  Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Fairview Cemetery, Cottageville, under the direction of Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with Chaplain Jackie Flanagan officiating.  Military honors will be conducted by the Jackson County veterans organizations.
