Information: Rebecca Easter Thomas, 79 of Ripley died January 10 at her home after a long illness.  She was a retired cook from Cedar Lakes with 25 years of service.  Survivors; one son, Joseph H. Easter of Cottageville; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Stearns of Ripley; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her father, John Calbert Duncan and her mother, Virdie Terry Duncan.  Services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Beulah Presbyterian Church in McDowell, VA with the Rev. William Cox officiating.  Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery, Highlawn, VA.  Obaugh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
