  <p>Information: Olen (Sheriff) Thomas, 61, of Sandyville, died October 1, 1987, at the Camden-Clark Hospital, Parkersburg, He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late Forrest and Lina Archer Thomas.  He was retired from Ames Co.  A member of the Lockhart United Methodist Church, he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army, and was a farmer.  Surviving:  wife, Lyla Morrison Thomas; daughters, Karla Spear of Sandyville, Cheryl Rhodes of Ripley; sons, Harold D. of Ravenswood, Nolen R. and Scott G., both of Sandyville; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.  Services were Sunday at the Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Allen Johnson and Paul Parsons officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.</p>
