Information: Lela Belle Thomas, a junior in the Gilmore High School at Sandyville, died suddenly Wednesday and her death was a shock to fellow class members and the members of her family.  She became ill during classes on Wednesday afternoon and when school authorities realized that her condition was serious they thought it best that she be taken to her home.  Her condition became gradually worse and she died at 10:30 Wednesday night.  She was 16 years of age and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Thomas, born Sept. 27, 1925, died March 26, 1941.  She was active in the class and school activities.  She is survived by the parents, two sisters, Olive and Mary Elizabeth Thomas, and two brothers, Leon and Harold, one grandmother, Mrs. Mary E. Black of Parkersburg.  One sister, Bernice Nina, preceded her in death.  Funeral services were held at the Lockhart Church with the Rev. W.S. States in charge and burial was in the Thomas Cemetery.
