  <p>Information: Dempsey E. Thomas, 50, of Kenna, died Friday at his residence of a brief illness.  Born in Kentuck, the son of Ivan and Mildred Scarberry Thomas, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Richard Crawler Construction Company out of Virginia.  He was a member of Engineer Local No. 132.  He is survived by wife, Evelyn Thomas of Kenna; son, Michael Wayne Thomas of Kenna; daughters, Victoria Ann Thomas and Teresa Gayle Thomas, both at home; brother, Keith Thomas of Gay; one grandchild, Clyde Edward Thomas, at home.  Service was held Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Wayne Hinzman officiating.  Burial was in Thomas Cemetery on Aplin Ridge.</p>
