Information: William Henry ""The Candyman"" Bourgeois Jr., 80, of Ripley died April 27, 2003 in Jackson General Hospital.  He was born Feb. 2, 1923 in Jackson County, a son of the late William Henry and Pleasie Sayre Bourgeois.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda; brothers, James, John and Calvin and grandson, Patrick Wayne Curry.  He was retired from the city of Ripley Water Plant and was a farmer.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theatre.  He is survived by his wife, Cora Stewart Bourgeois; son and his wife, David and Sandra of Ripley; daughters and their husbands, Bonnie Kaye and John Curry of Ripley, Rachel Nelcoff and husband of Marshall, Jennifer June Gandee of Ripley; brothers and their wives, Paul and Faye Bourgeois of Ripley, William and Lucille Keebaugh of Ravenswood; sisters and their husbands, Norma and Charley Cutlip and Naomi Fisher all of Ripley, Sandra and Larry Johnson of Henderson, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Catherine Bourgeois of Ravenswood; special friend, A. B. Mallett of Ripley; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley with the Rev. Hubert Groves and the Rev. Jean Kuenhert officiating.  Burial will be in Pleasant Hill-Morgan Cemetery, Ripley with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 103 and VFW Post 3488.
