Information: Desta Violet Bourgeois, 77 of Ripley died Saturday at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Parkersburg after an extended illness.  Mrs. Bourgeois was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late William Williams and Elizabeth Bland Williams.  She was a seamstress who specialized in making quilts.  She was a member of the Sidneyville United Methodist Church.  Surviving are four sons, Robert Warren of Ripley, Roland Gilbert of Stow, Ohio, Elmer Seaman of Ravenswood and Nathan of Wooster, Ohio; three daughters, Frances Keebaugh of Ravenswood, Juanita Harman of Ripley and Mary Shatto of Barberton, Ohio; three sisters, Leila Saltsman in California, Thelma Beymer of Parkersburg and Gertrude McMurray of Pasadena, Md.; 23 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrous Nathan Bourgeois; and by one son, Lester Bourgeois.  Services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Parsons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating.  Burial was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
