  <p>Information: Fred E. Stone, 87, of Ripley, died Jan. 13, 1996 at Jackson General Hospital, following a brief illness.  He was born in Swiss, W. Va., a son of the late Fred J. and Bessie Stone.  He was the last surviving charter member of the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department, a United States Army veteran of World War II and a 50-year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.  Surviving are two sons, Carl Stone of Ripley and Richard Lee Stone of Ravenswood; two daughters, Mary Lou Staats of Tulsa, Okla. and Annetta Marie of Birmingham, Ala.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Stone.  Services were held on Monday at Vail Funeral Home with burial in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
