Obituary Date: 1973-07-13

Information: Hiram Starkey, 72, of Ripley, died Monday at the Jackson General Hospital after a long illness.  He was a member of the Ripley Tabernacle and the Masonic Moriah Lodge No. 38.  He was a retired employe of Jackson General Hospital.  Surviving:  wife, Lucy; stepson, Harold J. Miller of Dunbar; stepdaughters, Mrs. Betty Winter of Cottageville, and Mrs. Joann Barnhouse of Ripley; brothers, John of Spencer, Homer of Silverton, and Carl of Airzona.  Service was held Wednesday morning at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Larry Thomas officiating.  Burial was in Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Roane County.
