Information:      Otis Warren ""Jack"" Boswell, 85, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 on his family homestead in Given, WV.  He will be long remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was an honest man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life - a cup of coffee and good conversation.  Jack was born on August 14, 1928, the youngest of Austin and Mary Etta Boswell's nine children.  He earned the moniker ""Smiling Jack"" in childhood because of his good natured laugh, infectious smile, and signature wink.  He was a 1946 graduate of Ripley High School and served as an MP in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He married his sweetheart Sharleen on December 22, 1956.  They were inseparable throughout their 57 years of happy marriage.  Jack was a 31 year employee of Kaiser Aluminum and a member of the American Legion Post 107, Ripley.  Jack always followed his beloved Cincinnati Reds and was a life-long fan of Ripley High School athletics.  He also followed Marshall and WVU sports and cheered on teams from both universities.  He especially loved cheering for his grandchildren and extended family.  He is survived by his wife Cleora Sharleen Sayre Boswell of Given, his sister, Ora Thornton of Dunbar, his children:  Sherry Colleen Barnette of Evans, Mary Ann Boswell of Ripley, and Warren Kent ""Kenny"" Boswell of Covington, VA, his grandchildren:  Adena Barnette and Andrea (Christopher) Reneau of Ripley, Austin ""Drew"" Barnette of Evans, Halea (Gustavo) Solano of Raleigh, NC, Mary Elise Boswell-Clark of Ripley and Zachary Boswell of Covington, VA, his great-grandchildren:  Dominik Solano, Harlow Reneau, Huck Reneau and Mikael Solano,and his many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.  The funeral service will be held at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, WV on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Lloyd Keith presiding.  An interment ceremony with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post 107 of Ripley will follow at Given Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Jack's memory to the American Legion Post 107, Ripley.  Jack was proud to have served in the military and always tried to help a fellow veteran if they were in need.  Online condolences and memories can be left at www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.
