Information: E. E. Starcher, son of Robert E. and Emma Starcher, was born at Ripley, W. Va. on November 10, 1857 and departed this life on July 1, 1941, age 83 years, 7 months, 21 days. He was united in marriage 59 years ago to Josephine Unrue, who preceded him in death 27 years ago.  To this union was born two sons, W. P. Starcher of Cottageville, W. Va. and S. C. Starcher of Huntington, W. Va.  He also leaves six grandchildren and the following brothers:  F. F. Starcher of Huntington, William Starcher of Colby, Kansas, C. W. and S. G. Starcher of Ripley and J. H. Starcher of Cheshire, Ohio, also one sister, Sophia Rhodes of Long Island, Kansas.       He was one of Jackson county's oldest school teachers, having taught in various schools of the county for 29 years.  He was also a farmer, and a very successful business man, having been interested in many enterprises.  While he was not a member of any church, he was a firm believer in God and Jesus Christ and his guiding light in a religious way was the ""Star of Morality"".  Honesty he preached.  Honesty in all things he practiced.  We will always remember the clean life he lived.  In latter years, sickness slowly, but surely, closed over his activities, and death has at last ended all earthly existence.  But somewhere, somehow, we have faith and hope that he will be rewarded for his goodness in this life.  He was buried in Pine Hill cemetery at Ripley.
