  <p>Information: Benton Stanley, 68, of Ravenswood, died Oct. 4, 1989, at his residence after a long illness.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late Squire and Corda Anderson Stanley.  He was a member of the Independence United Methodist Church, Sandyville, and was a retired, self-employed businessman and a former employee of Columbia Gas Co.  He is survived by his wife, Evelyn L. Stanley of Ravenswood; three sisters, Elsie L. Shenefield of Sandyville, Ruth Mitchell of Barberton, Ohio and Essie Lawson of Durham, N. C.; one brother, Carl Stanley of Ravenswood; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.  Services were Saturday at the Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood.  Burial was in the Independence Cemetery near Sandyville.</p>
