Information:                 Funeral services for Mrs. Ardella Stanley, 76, widow of the late W. A. Stanley, who died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ottis Miller in Parkersburg, were held Sunday from the Comet Church near Sandyville and burial was in the church cemetery.  She had been in ill health for a number of years.  She was born March 10, 1873 at Ripley, died Feb. 16, 1949, and following her marriage lived at Ravenswood RFD 1.  She was the daughter of Absalom Board of Ripley Rt. 1.  Following the death of her husband several years ago, she went to Parkersburg to make her home with her daughter.  Mrs. Stanley is survived by five sons, Okey, Lewis, and Clifford, all of Akron, Ohio, Walter of Sagerstown, Pa., and Roy Stanley of Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. Jessie Miller of Parkersburg; a brother, W. S. Board of Ripley and a sister, Mrs. Martha Balser, also of Ripley.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Three children, James, George and John Stanley, preceded her in death.  (obit collection of Betty Kessel McIntyre)
