Information: DEATH STRIKES SECOND TIME IN FAMILY - Eugene Stalnaker, 22, son of Romie Stalnaker of Sandyville was fatally injured in an auto accident near Pt. Pleasant, last Friday. This makes the second death in this family due to auto accidents in the past year. Eugene's aunt, Miss Ruby Stalnaker , was fatally injured in an auto accident about noon last December 24, when she lost control of the Ford truck she was driving. The car Stalnaker was driving sideswiped another car. Investigating authorities stated his auto skidded 108 feet, turning over about three times. The victim's jugular vein was severed and his body badly broken. Steve Randough, a passenger in the Stalnaker car, was uninjured. The victim was rushed to a Gallipolis hospital, where he died of the loss of blood. He leaves his father, and three sisters. Funeral services were held in Independence church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Eugene James Stalnaker, 21 year old son of Romie Stalnaker, of Sandyville, was killed in an automobile accident on State Rt. 62 near Pt. Pleasant late Friday evening. Officers who investigated the tragedy said that the accident was due to an excessive rate of speed in their opinion and not to any faulty mechanism about the automobile. The automobile slid more than 100 feet after it overturned, they said. One other occupant in the car escaped without serious injury. The death of the young man is the second death caused by an automobile crash in the family within the past few months. The other was his aunt, Ruby Stalnaker, who was killed in a crash near Sandyville last Christmas. He is survived by his father, Romie Stalnaker, and four sisters, Mrs. John Ferguson, of Ripley, Mrs. Eloise Yarnov of Charleston, and Misses June and Iris Stalnaker, at home. Funeral services were held at the Independence church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial was in the cemetery there by the grave of his mother who died several years ago.
