  <p>Information: Dr. Oshel Fredrick Staats, 54, died Friday at his home in Ripley, following a brief illness.  Funeral services were conducted Monday from the Calvary U. M. Church with the Rev. William Eaton officiating.  Burial was in the Fairplain Cemetery,with Masonic graveside rites.  Dr. Staats was born June 19, 1920, a son of Dr. Oshel C. and Ora Casto Staats of Ripley, who survive.  He was graduated from the Northern Illinois School of Optometrists.  He was a Mason belonging to AF & AM 16 in Ripley and was a 1st Lt. in the Army Air Corps in World War II.  He is survived by his wife, Jacinta C. Staats, Ripley; one son, Michael F. Staats, Ripley; three daughters, Mrs. William J. Young, Lawrenceburg, Ind., Mrs. Joe Walters of Wheeling, formerly of Point Pleasant; Mrs. Michael Spainhour, Parkersburg; one brother, John Robert Staats, Bahamas; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell Pitchford, Vienna, Mrs. William Vickers, Ahoskie, N. C. and four grandchildren.  Parsons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.</p>
