Information: Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley for Mrs. Leola Ball Staats, 55, of Ripley, who died Sunday in a Charleston Hospital following an extended illness. The Rev. William Sullivan officiated with burial in the Casto Cemetery. A daughter of the late Robert and Fannie Riddle Ball, she was a member of the Fairplain Homemakers Club. Survivors include her husband, Claude Staats; two step-daughters, Mrs. Zelma Higley and Mrs. Yvonne Stone, both of Charleston; one brother, Rayburn Ball of Chesapeake; five sisters, Mrs. Marie White, Mrs. Ruby Hodge, Mrs. Garnet Peters and Evelyn Ball, all of Chesapeake and Mrs. Fanny Currey of Marmet.
