  <p>Information: Glen C. Staats, 88, of Gay, died Friday at the Jackson General Hospital in Ripley following an extended illness.  He was a son of the late Jacob Staats and Eliza Johns Staats of Ripley.  He retired as a mechanic from Capitol City Bodyworks and was a Protestant.  He is survived by his wife, Irene Staats; four sons, James A. Staats and Roger L. Staats of Ravenswood, George E. Staats of Springfield, Ohio and Stacey J. Staats of Gay; five daughters, Sharon Adams and Sondra Cook of Charleston, Judy Brown of Nelsonville, Ohio, Lana Lamp of Parkersburg and Carolyn Fields of Statts Mill; and 18 grandchildren.  Graveside services were held Monday in Fairplain with the Rev. Robert Hinzman officiating.  Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley was in charge of arrangements.</p>
