  <p>Information: Archer M. Staats, 65, dfied at his home in Williamstown Thursday and funeral services were conducted there Friday with burial in a cemetery in that city.  He had been engaged in the mercantile business there for a number of years.  Mr. Staats was born in Jackson county on Jan. 29, 1876, and was a son of the late John and Mary Buckley Staats.  He married Miss Stella Hanlin many years ago and she died on Nov. 2, 1936.  Survivors are one son, Ernest Staats of Williamstown, and one daughter, Mrs. Grace Cox, who lives in the family home.  There are four grandchildren.  Five brothers (?) and one sister also survive, William Staats of Marietta, Ohio, Coleman Staats of Parkersburg, Thomas Staats of Murraysville, and Miss Mabel Allen of Portland, Ohio.  One brother, Robert Staats, and two sisters, Mrs. Adaline Jones and Mrs. Missouri McKinely, are deceased.  Mr. and Mrs. Staats lived in Jackson county until 1919 when they moved to Williamstown and opened the Staats grocery establishment.  [Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]</p>
