Information:      Emerson S. Snyder, 83, of Springview, Neb., formerly of Ravenswood, died December 16, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb.  He was born May 31, 1923, in Sandyville, W.Va., a son of the late Albert and Sylvia Morris Snyder.  He retired from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Corporation and farming.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood.  He had been a Jackson County Commissioner, member of VFW Post 6669 and loved farming.  He is survived by his wife, Violet Tippens Snyder of Springview; sons, Roger Snyder and wife, Donna, of Proctorville, Ohio, Gene Snyder and wife, Kim, of Ainsworth, Neb., Steve Snyder and wife, Lynn, of Scottsville, Va. and Robert Snyder and wife, Meg, of Springfield, Va.; sisters, Wanda Lee Marple of Ravesnwood, Muriel Cochran of Charleston, W.Va., and Juanita Harpold of Belle, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Ray Snyder, and sister, Beulah Randolph.  Services will be 11 a.m., Friday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Richard Cottrill officiating.  Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.  Friends may visit the family from 5-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to the Ravenswood VFW Post 6669.
