  <p>Information: Thomas H. Smith was born September 11, 1858, died May 26, 1940.  He spent the greater part of his life in Jackson and Mason counties.  He was united in marriage to Anna Mary Schaefer in 1877.  She passed away in 1905.  To this union seven children were born.  In later years he married Emma Sayre, who is critically ill at their home at Letart, W. Va.  He also leaves three daughters:  Margaret Thomas, Dora and Mila Smith of Parkersburg, W. Va.; two sons, T. B. Smith of Sycamore, Illinois, R. T. Smith of Racine, Wisconsin; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.  Funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the Cottageville church by the Rev. W. I. Fiber, pastor of that church and interment was made in the Cottageville cemetery.    (copied by Ada Ruth Sayre)</p>
