Information: Robert S. Smith, 68, Sandyville, died Sunday at his home.  He was born in Jackson County, son of the late Martin V. and Estella Ice Smith.  He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, JOUAM, and was a retired mail carrier with 43 years service with the U. S. Postal Service. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. A. Cleo Smith; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Mae Smith of Buffalo, Mrs. Wanda D. Skeen of Ripley, Mrs. A. Louise Lewis of Leroy, Mrs. Mona A. Kessel of Ripley; three brothers, Delbert of Perryville, O., Garnet of Buffalo, Garland of Leroy; and four sisters, Mrs. Georgia Weekley, Sandyville, Mrs. Mary Pursley, Ripley, Mrs. Pauline Thrash, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Roberta Richmond, Akron, O.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday at Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Elmer Pursley officiating.  Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.  Vail Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
