  <p>Information: Lucretia Irene ""Shorty"" Davis Smith, 82, of Ravenswood died March 24, 1989 in Eldercare, Ripley, after a long illness.  She was born in Roane County, a daughter of the late George and Anna Swain Davis. She was a member of First Christian Church of Ravenswood and the Senior Citizens Club.  She was retired from Jackson County Board of Education with 22 years&#39; service as a cook.  Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Howard and Carolyn Pease, both of Ravenswood; two sons, Cecil G. and Gene V., both of Ravenswood; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton (Chump) Smith in 1968; a son, Dean Smith in 1936; and five brothers and two sisters.  Services were Saturday at the First Christian Church, Ravenswood with burial in Ravenswood Cemetery.  Straight-Tucker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.</p>
