Information: Linda Lou Smith was born April 18, 1946 in Jackson County, a daughter of Olen and Pauline Kent Smith and was an eighth grade pupil of Gilmore High School.  She was a member of the Meadowdale Baptist Church and the Victory Fighters 4-H Club.  Survivors include her parents; a brother, Sidney Lee Smith, at home; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Somerville of Sandyville; grandparents, Mrs. Ross Kent, and Mr. and Mrs. Forest Smith, all of Sandyville.  A joint service was held yesterday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Gilmore high school for Miss Smith, Lynda Gayle Thompson and Phyllis Miller.  Officiating were the Rev. Perry Parsons, the Rev. Denver Cooper, and the Rev. Earl Seaman.  Schoolmates of the girls acted as pallbearers.  Burial followed in the Independence Cemetery for Lynda Gayle Thompson and Phyllis Miller, and in the Meadowdale Cemetery for Linda Lou Smith, under the direction of the Parsons Funeral Home.      *Killed in Jackson County's worst accident with five others, on Route 21 at Sandyville.
