Information: John H. Smith, 87, of Ripley, died Saturday in Jackson General Hospital, after a long illness.  He was a retired employe of the Commonwealth Gas Co.  Surviving:  daughters, Mrs. Ray Conley and Mrs. Ernest Coon of Ripley; sons, Milo and Paul of Fort Myers, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Maude Jackson of Hinton, Mrs. Essie Wysong of Big Bend, Ms. Grace Oles of Grantsville; brothers, Walter of Spencer, Mont of Grantsville, Calvin of Florida; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.  Service was held Monday in Sinnett Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Paul Morrison officiating.  Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Elizabeth.
