Information: James R. Smith, 58, of Cottageville died last Wednesday night in a Clarksburg hospital after a long illness.  Funeral services were held Saturday at the Casto Funeral Home in Evans.  The Rev. Gerald Sayre officiated, and burial was in Blaine Memorial Cemetery at Cottageville.  He was a son of the late William and Cora Tubor Smith, and was a farmer and veteran of World War II.  Surviving are two brothers, Melvin of Parkersburg, and Arthur of East Liverpool, Ohio; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Cagle of Belpre, Ohio, Mrs. Marie Caplinger, Marietta, Ohio, and Mrs. Flossie Braham of Parkersburg.
