Information: Funeral services were held Friday at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, for Mrs. Helen Mae Smith, 73, of Ravenswood, who died at her home Wednesday following a long illness.  She was born Nov. 1, 1890, at Ripley, daughter of the late George W. and Kate Ashley Coast.  She was a member of the Comet Methodist Church.  Survivors include her husband, Rosco C. Smith, three sons, George H., Ravenswood, and Paul C. and Dale Smith, both of Ripley; two daughters, Mrs. Althea Shockey, Ravenswood, Mrs. Alwilda Fisher, Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Leota King, Leota, and Mrs. Sarah Chapman of Reedy, and nine grandchildren.  The Rev. William Eaton officiated at the service and burial was in the Independence Cemetery.
