Information: Hazel Ankrum Smith, 72, of Route 4, Pomeroy, Ohio, died Wednesday morning at the Holzer Hospital in Gallipolis, Ohio, after a long illness.  She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Clyde Ankrum and Myrtle Stewart Ankrum who survives.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She is survived be her husband, Owen Smith; two sisters, Bernice Painter of Ripley and Dorothy Weekley of Ravenswood; two brothers, Clarence Ankrum of Evans and Lloyd Ankrum of Belpre, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by two sisters.  Services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Ronald McCauley officiating.  Burial was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
