Information: RIPLEY (Special) - David E. Smith, 69, of Ripley, died yesterday in Staats hospital of a heart condition.  He was a retired carpenter.  Surviving are his widow, Lora, a son, Thomas of Ripley; two brothers, John of Ripley and Earl of Laredo, Tex.; and two grandchildren.  Services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Ripley with the Rev. Lejune Lewis officiating.  Burial will be in Blaine Memorial cemetery at Cottageville with Parsons mortuary of Ripley directing.  The body will be taken to the church an hour before services.
