  <p>Information: Mrs. Chestine Lamb Smith, 68, of Spencer, died April 21, 1990, in Roane General Hospital, after a long illness.  She was a retired registered nurse at Roane General Hospital.  She was a 27-year resident of West Virginia and a member of St. John&#39;s Episcopal Church, Ripley, and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.  She had worked in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, the former Spencer State Hospital, and she was a nursing instructor at the Arch A. Moore, Jr. Vocational Technical Center, Jackson County.  Surviving:  husband, Robert Layfield Smith; sons, Robert Layfield II, Don Harwin, both of Spencer; daughters, Martha Lamb Smith Wilson of Spencer, Laney Chestine Smith Turner of Mooresville, N. C.; sisters, Estell Bradley, O&#39;Neil Sullivan, Berty Lee Thompson, Gorgean Johns, all of Arkansas; nine grandchildren.  Service was held Tuesday at Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Elizabeth Walker officiating.  Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, Gay, Jackson County.</p>
