  <p>Information: lBessie Blanche Smith, 86, of Sandyville WV, departed this life December 21, 1998 at Eldercare of Ripley following an extended illness. She was born July 26, 1912 at Advent WV, a daughter of the late Marshall Franklin and Mary Ellen Hammon Blackshire.  She was a homemaker, a former employee of the Coffee Shop in Charleston and was a member of the Pilgrim Advent Christian Church at Coopers Creek.  Surviving are sons, Walter Smith of Lebanon TN, Wilbur Smith of Ocala FL, Glenn Smith, Jr. of Sandyville, Frank Smith, of Doylestown OH, James Eddie Smith of Mount Alto, Donald Paul Smith of Ripley; daughters, Wanda Matheney of Edgewater FL, Verlie Payne of Cottageville, Wilda Parsons of Gandeeville and Rosemary Brooks of Marysville OH; sisters, Ellen Smith of Mt. Vernon OH, Arbutis Durbin of Donnellton FL; step sister, Georgia Lanham of Silverton; 33 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Smith, Sr.; brothers, Dennis Blackshire and Marshall Blackshire; sisters, Rena Ingram and Martha Hammon; step brothers, Clarence Young and Dorman Young; step sister, Pauline Young.  Service will be held Thursday, December 24, 1998 at 1 p.m. at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. James Fisher, Walter Smith and Rosemary Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Pocatalico.  Visitation from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.</p>
