  <p>Information: Funeral services for George Leonard Slaven, 75, who died at home at Toppins Grove in Grant District on Wednesday, were held from the Ravenswood Baptist Church on Friday afternoon and interment was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.  The son of the late Henry and Sarah Flinn Slaven, he was born January 23, 1873 and departed this life Dec. 28, 1948, age 75 years, 11 months and 6 days.  He married Molly Rardin on April 21, 1901.  Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Bertie Flowers of Williamstown and Miss Gladys Slaven of Akron, Ohio, and six sons, Wilbur of Belleville, Clarence E., Ira and Darrell Slaven, all of Sherman, and Paul and Charles Slaven, both of Ravenswood.  Two daughters, Ollie Belle and Audra, preceded him in death.  He also leaves 19 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Mrs. India Karr of Mineral Wells and Mrs. Louella Milhoan of Toppins Grove.  (from the Betty Kessel McIntyre Obituary Collection)</p>
