Information:      Kenneth Harroll ""Tom"" Bonnett, 91. of Liberty passed away October 10, 2014 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.  He was born Nov. 6, 1922 in Jackson County, a son of the late Vaughn and Verta Fisher Bonnett.   He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in North Africa and Italy.  During his time in service he was awarded the Purple Heart twice and many Combat Infantry Medals.  He was a mail carrier for 28 years and provided the maintenance for the Emma Chapel Cemetery for 47 years, where he also served as the treasurer for the cemetery.  Tom enjoyed country music and played with the Liberty Mountaineers for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel D. Ranson Bonnett; sister, Helen Bullard; a brother, Quinten Bonnett; and a stepdaughter, Reba Hanna.  He is survived by two nieces, Kathy Martin and Karen Jack; two nephews, Joe Bonnett and Jerry Bonnett; and stepsons, Jerry Ranson and Jimmy Ranson. He is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren' and three step-great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 24, at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastors Jerry Ranson and Jerry Bonnett officiating.  Burial with military rites provided by American Legion Post 107, Ripley, will be in Emma Chapel Cemetery.
