Death Notice:
Obituary Date: 1950-03-10
Information: The effects of burns received three weeks before when his clothing caught fire as he stood before an open fireplace, and resulting complications, brought death to Randall Rex Skeen, 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Skeen at the family home near Kentuck last Friday morning. The young man had been an invalid since the age of four years, and his condition had not been good recently, and the burns received, while not considered of such a serious nature as to result in death, nevertheless doubtless hastened his demise. The funeral service was held from the home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. D. C. Guthrie in charge and the burial was in the Skeen family cemetery. Surviving in addition to the parents include a brother, Roderick Skeen of Staats Mills; two sisters, Mrs. Allene Cummings of Mt. Olive and Mrs. Colleen Rhodes of Charleston; five half-brothers, Delbert Skeen of Chalreston, Clifton Skeen of Kentuck, Denzil Skeen of Akron, Claude Skeen of Kentuck, and Glenn Skeen of Charleston; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Mildred Boykin of Detroit, Michigan and Mrs. Mae Chancey of South Charleston.
