Information: Mrs. Marie Tobin Simmons, 82, of Williams Ave., Ripley, died Dec. 8, 1988, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following a short illness.  She was born Dec. 1, 1906, at Kimball, WV, the daughter of the late Isadore and Rebecca Catten Tobin.  She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, St. John's  Altar Guild, E.C.W. of St. John's and also a member of Jackson General Auxiliary Volunteers, Woman's Club of Ripley and Green Hills Country Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Donald Simmons.  Survivors include two brothers, David Tobin, Charlotte, NC and Ben Tobin, Columbus, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were held at St. John's Episcopal Church, Monday, with the Rev. Elizabeth Walker officiating.  Burial was at Grasslick Cemetery, with Vail Funeral Home in charge.  In remembrance, donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 558, Ripley WV 25271.
