Information: KENNA BUSINESSMAN CLAIMED - Jackson County businessman, Gleston P. Simmons, 55, of Kenna,died Thursday at home of a sudden illness. He was born September 18, 1927, a son of Eunice Elva Simmons and the late Parvin Poe Simmons.  He was president of Simmons General Store Inc. located at Kenna.  He was also an agent for Nationwide Insurance and he and his son, Gregory, shared insurance offices at Kenna.  Mr. Simmons was a former county Republican committeeman.  He was a member of Grass Lick Baptist Church of Kenna, Masonic Lodge of Ripley, International Order of Odd Fellows of Ripley and Parkersburg Shriners.  In addition to his son, Gregory, of Kenna, he is survived by his wife, Sybil; daughters, Rebecca Drennon of Parkersburg, Leigh Ann and Kimberly, both at home; mother, Mrs. Elva Simmons of Kenna; sister, Betty Casto of Kenna.  Funeral services were held Saturday in Grass Lick Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jack Godfrey officiating.  Burial was in Grass Lick Cemetery with Vail Funeral Home in charge.
