  <p>Information:      Freda Marie Simmons, 80, of Given died April 30, 1998, at Jackson General Hospital.  She was born March 4, 1917, at Kenna and retired from Appalachian Power after 37 years of service.  She was a member of Eastern Star of Ripley and Jackson General Hospital Board.  She was secretary and treasurer of Fairplain Cemetery Board.  Survivors include one sister, Dollie Simmons of Given, and three nieces, Helen Hinzman and Margaret Nelson, both of Ripley and Joyce Burdette of Williamsburg, VA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Clark and Flora Anne Skeen Simmons.  Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley.  Burial in Fairplain Cemetery.</p>
