Information: Beulah Joy Simmons, 54, of Gay, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1987, following a brief illness.  She was a daughter of the late Leonard and Thelma Slater Thompson.  She was a former employee at the Kroger store in Ripley.  She was a graduate of East Bank High School.  She is survived by her husband, John Upgay Simmons; three sons, John Simmons, Jr. at home, James Simmons of Florida and Jack Simmons of Georgia; one daughter, Jane Ann Caswell of Charleston; two brothers, Leonrad Thompson, Montgomery, Samuel Thompson, address unavailable; five sisters, Bonnie McKean and Ruth Arnold, both of California, Dardenelle Rhoton and Juanita Nolan, both of Pennsylvania, Bea Hammon of Ohio; eight grandchildren.  Services were Tuesday at the Parsons Funeral Home Chapel, Ripley, with the Rev. Wayne Hinzman officiating.  Burial was in Parsons Cemetery, Gay.
