Information: Herman B. Showen, 94, of Route 1, Spencer, died May 29, 1989 in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness. He was retired from United Fuel Gas Co., and was a member of Peniel United Methodist Church, Peniel.  Surviving:  son, Harold D. of Parkersburg; daughters, Margaret Rhodes and Linda Murdock, both of Ripley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.  Service will be 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Orland Reynolds officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, near Spencer.
